BarkLogger

“It barks all day”
isn't evidence.
This is.

BarkLogger listens while you're out and writes down every bark, with the time it happened and how loud it was.

One dog. One Tuesday. Sixty-three events.

The pattern is the point. A landlord can argue with “constantly.” They can't argue with four solid hours starting the moment the owners leave.

How it works

Three steps, then go about your day.

There's no account to make and nothing to configure before you start. Leave a phone somewhere in the house, plugged in.

STEP 01

Start a session

Tap once before you leave. BarkLogger listens for dog sounds and keeps the screen awake so it doesn't drop out.

STEP 02

It writes everything down

Every bark, howl, growl, whimper and yip — each with its exact time and loudness. Loud moments record an audio clip automatically.

STEP 03

Export the report

One tap produces a dated PDF: summary, activity chart, and the full incident log. Print it, email it, attach it to a complaint.

What you get

Everything in one file, ready to hand over.

PDF

The report

Dated summary, a chart of activity across the day, and a chronological log of every event with times and levels.

Audio

Clips that are actually barking

Recording triggers on loudness, but a clip is only kept if a dog was heard in it. No sifting through the dishwasher.

Manual

Photo, audio and video

When you can see what's happening, capture it yourself. Three buttons and a live viewfinder while a session runs.

ZIP

One-file evidence bundle

Report, every clip, every photo and video, plus a plain-language README explaining the contents. Send one file.

Notes

Your own account

Add what a microphone can't capture — who was home, what set it off, when you reported it. Notes print in the report.

Optional

Address on the record

Stamp each session with where it was recorded, so a report shows the location. Off with one switch if you'd rather not.

Privacy

Nothing leaves your phone.

No accounts, no servers, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. Sound identification runs entirely on your device using Apple's built-in audio analysis. Your recordings, photos and logs stay on your iPhone unless you choose to share them — and when you do, you choose where they go.

Before you buy

What this can't do.

We'd rather set expectations than collect refunds. All of this is stated inside the app too.

Detection isn't perfect It uses Apple's on-device sound classifier. Quiet or unusual barks can be missed, and other noises can occasionally be flagged. You can tune the sensitivity to your situation.
Decibels are relative, not calibrated Readings show loudness relative to the phone's microphone. They are not certified dB SPL measurements, and no phone app can provide those without reference hardware.
Reports aren't legal evidence They're automated, good-faith records. Whether a landlord, HOA or agency accepts one is up to them, and requirements vary by location. This is a documentation tool, not legal advice.
Recording laws vary Rules differ by state and country, and some require the consent of recorded parties. Making sure your use is lawful where you live is up to you.
Keep it plugged in iOS restricts what apps may do in the background, so BarkLogger holds the screen awake during a session. Clips captured if it does get backgrounded are saved but marked unverified.
